“We are very excited about this concert series,” said Cheryl Casola, St. Peter’s Director of Music, describing the Brother’s Keeper Concert Series that was launched at St. Peter’s in July 2014. “Great musicians from around the area donate their time for this important cause. Each program features a variety of genres including classical, jazz, and Broadway. There is something for everybody,” Casola enthused.
Although admission is free, donations of non-perishable food items and personal care items, as well as freewill cash offerings are collected to help the St. Peter’s Community Market stock its shelves with food from the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. The Market puts the emphasis on community in the larger sense of the word. Dozens of households, representing some 100 to 120 individuals, shop for free at the market on a typical Friday. Shoppers come not just from Narragansett and South Kingstown but also from Westerly, North Kingstown, and Coventry.
