Welcome

Welcome, I am delighted you have found St. Peter’s by-the-Sea.

I know these times are difficult and we are all looking for where we can find meaning, purpose, and ways to connect. I check my smartphone throughout the day. I post on Twitter and Facebook – but, in the end, these are not substitutes for connecting with others to share and explore questions of faith and meaning, to form a community of love and care, and to serve the world around us.

St. Peter’s has dedicated itself to faith, community, and service. As a church, we understand all of that to be bound up in a relationship with God, who is revealed to us in Jesus.

The heart of that relationship is our regular gathering, Sunday by Sunday, to hear and proclaim God’s word, to offer our prayers for others and ourselves, and to be nourished and strengthened in the Eucharistic meal.

We seek to grow in that faith by engaging in study, conversation, and action in our Christian Formation programs for youth and adults. And we take that faith outside ourselves by loving service to others – here in Narragansett, in the larger community, and in the world.

So please know that you are warmly invited to join us in building our church community, to share in being nurtured by worship and Scripture and one another, and to serve the world around us in the name of the Risen Christ.
